Everyday young people and families are faced with choices that determine their futures and the future of the community. These decisions range from what classes to take in school, to where to live, to what job they will choose. Many times, these choices can seem overwhelming and families need someone to come alongside and provide hope, encouragement and support.

Through Christlike volunteers, providing godly wisdom, we can help these families and therefore enrich Lexington County and beyond.

Considering the many life-altering choices today’s youth and their families faceThe Scooter Scott Project has made it our mission to

MORE DROPOUTS MEAN MORE…
UNEMPLOYMENT
3X MORE UNEMPLOYED

Students who drop out of high school are up to 3X more likely to be unemployed.

POVERTY
EARN 200K LESS THAN…

A high school dropout will earn $200,000 less than a high school graduate over their lifetime. And almost a million dollars less than a college graduate.

INCARCERATION
63X HIGHER INCARCERATION…

Dropouts are exposed to many socioeconomic forces that are often gateways to crime, resulting in incarceration rates that are 63 times higher.

The Scooter Scott Project believes our youth deserve better. A child’s future shouldn’t be determined by their circumstances. With your help, we can show youth that life can be full of opportunities and equip them with the tools they need to succeed.

TESTIMONIAL
Johnny

The Scooter Scott Project really cares about its students in and out of class. The volunteers and leaders try hard to find the best workable solution for student situations and guide them in the right direction through classes and fellowship!

I am not only a tutor with the GED program, but also a proud GED graduate (2006). Each student we assist has a unique life story that has led them to our ministry. Their motivation to begin, and dedication to continue their GED with our program allows us to build a relationship with each of them-built on faith. Upon completion, we celebrate, as they are now prepared to continue their educational or career goals. I am grateful to be involved in this ministry for our community.

While I was a part of the Scooter Scott project for 6 years, it had a huge impact on my life because it connected me to current mentors, taught me basic life skills, and motivated me to pursue goals I had for my life. As I reflected on the project’s mission: to build faith, family, and futures, I realized I found my faith in Jesus, my church family, and the courage to live the life God planned for me through this organization’s investment in me. Just as this program graciously poured into me, I now have the opportunity to teach what I have learned to those who need what I was once missing.
